Current members interested in forming a new chapter/branch must complete and submit a chapter/branch formation application. Chapter formation applications are to be submitted to the GAAAE Board of Directors while the applications to form branches of existing chapters must be submitted to the leadership of the existing chapters.


Applications will be reviewed by the Board of Directors (for chapters) or respective leadership teams (for branches) to assess the request against identified member needs, alignment to Org’s goals, and any potential impacts to the existing chapters/branches. Applicants should be aware that the completion and submission of an application do not guarantee that the requested chapter/branch will be formed.

Details to be included in the formation application:

  • Preliminary business case for creating the chapter/branch including who will be served by this chapter/branch, also what gaps will be met through this. How will this new branch/chapter enhance the ability of GAAAE to meet the needs of its members? The proposal needs a sustainable vision and resources to support future growth.
  • Details of the members who support the efforts to form a new chapter/branch – New chapters must have at least 10 active members to be chartered while there is no minimum membership requirement for new branch formation.
  • Additionally, the members will be required to complete a conflict-of-interest form as well as a confidentiality agreement during formation. For more information on forming new chapters or new branches of an existing chapter, please reach out to chapters@gaaaetx.org
